Rights-of-patients-attendants
ESIC Hospital Sarojini Nagar,Lucknow, welcomes all patients. The Patient’s family rights responsibilities are displayed in prominent places for the patients benefit in English and Hindi languages.
The patients are counselled at the time of admission by the reception staff about their rights and responsibilities while receiving care at ESIC Hospital, Sarojini Nagar,Lucknow.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare circulated the country’s first Charter of Patients’ Rights in a letter to all state governments in June 2019. It was implemented as a remedy against the increasing complaints of inadequate medical care and medical malpractices. Because of the various complaints of medical malpractice, inadequate services or denials, and shortage of transparency, the government has been receiving them continuously. Originally, there were 13 rights on the Charter, which increased to 20 on August 23, 2021, with the approval of the National Council for Clinical Establishments, Government of India.
Here are all of them-
1. The right to have privacy dignity and religious cultural belief respected.
2. The patient family right to have protection from against physical abuse or neglect.
3. The right to have information related to your medical condition kept confidential.
4. The right to accept or refuse any medication, investigation or treatment, and to be informed of the likely consequences of doing so.
5. The patient has right to reasonably informed participation in decisions involving his or her health care. The patient shall not be subjected to any procedure without his
her informed consent.
6. The right to receive medical advice and treatment which fully meets the currently accepted standards of care and quality and know the same.
7. The right to make complaints or suggestions.
8. The right to have information on expected cost of the treatment.
9. The right to access to his or her clinical records.
10. The right to be given a clear description of your medical condition and plan of care.
